The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Chose the Wrong Critical Role Track

This latest animated series, the newest animated adventure by the beloved role-playing group, revealed an exciting introductory sequence. It showcases the beloved group of outcasts, outcasts, and rogues kicking ass and taking names, while teasing at multiple heart-wrenching personal histories for characters including Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, the character Fjord.

Overall, the intro appears amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that something was lost in the song choice.

This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar song created by artist the talented musician. This piece from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release released by the production company's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful sentimental choice, and I believe that devotees of the sequel series will love its presence.

Personally, The Mighty Nein's opening doesn't quite capture the excitement and energy that accompanied the second campaign's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by musician the artist, was an instant classic for me when it was first revealed in 2015, and it improved further when co-founder the performer added lyrics to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year.

Including singing from one actress, Laura Bailey, a co-star, as well as Riegel himself, the song was memorable and enjoyable. At the time, I hadn't seen the follow-up series yet, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my device. This track that excites you before you start an installment of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" doesn't strike the same chords for me. It's an impressive piece of music, but from what I know of this party, I can't help but feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have a few changes and variations from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening appears as among these.
