"During a long match, you should dig in. Playing at deliveries 'sixth stump' areas has never featured in the coaching manuals, and that is mainly the fault the top order."

Looking Ahead

When questioned if he believed England will triumph in a Test in this contest, came the reply: "It appears the Aussies are just too good currently."

"It will require more than one player that makes a significant contribution and turns the game."

Even with the series lost, the siblings are still anticipating the trip.

"It will be a great time anyway," said Katie. "We must adopt that attitude."

"Obviously it is unfortunate we don't have more to play for, but we have spent so much money by now."

"We'll enjoy having Christmas and New Year out there. Additionally, it's mine and Rory's first time traveling over Christmas."

A schoolteacher, Katie is focused on enjoying the lengthy journey as part of her Christmas holidays.

"If all else fails, there's always golf to rely on," she added.
