NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar and after last week's discussion regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests were the amount of penalties both committed. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they essentially beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.

However it was good to see that Denver's QB the rookie managed to overcome that deficit before direct three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, to win the game by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and Denver prevailed in that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four defenders but they could plug two LBs in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said on a program that the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

New TE their tight end has stepped up big while new running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows that Denver represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes and maintains in positive situations.

It's also helped QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to throw anywhere, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he is so athletic.

His strengths are his mobility, being able to pass while moving, as well as finding varied release points to deliver the pass as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws across the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade being tackled as much as possible and can throw in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you constantly run the ball it consumes the clock and makes the defence to be in play extended periods, and if you've got a mobile QB the defence has to cover the area downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for him to coach a rookie QB who's kind of like play-dough. He can truly develop him the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and has passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Currently, I don't think Denver are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to hold their division. The key is is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win any game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are also the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, Denver have a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.

It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they face because the Broncos {beat|def
