Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
